When I fully immerse myself in The Word and pray in The Holy Spirit, I noticeably grow stronger in faith and I am less moved by the world and its trappings. The Word in my heart then becomes more real than the world around me and my life changes for the better. With this said, I can’t make anyone do the same but I can simply compare my fruit to others who do not follow the same path. I overwhelmingly prefer my path.
Jesus spoke in the 21st chapter of Matthew:
17 Jesus then left at once for the nearby village of Bethany, where He spent the night.
18 While walking back into the city the next morning, He got hungry. 19 He noticed a lone fig tree by the side of the path and walked over to see if there was any fruit on it, but there was none—He found only leaves. So He spoke to the fig tree and said, “You will be barren and will never bear fruit again!” Instantly the fig tree shriveled up right in front of their eyes!
20 Astonished, his disciples asked, “How did You make this fig tree instantly wither and die?”
21 Jesus replied, “Listen to the Truth. If you do not doubt God’s power and speak out of faith’s fullness, you can also speak to a tree and it will wither away. Even more than that, you could say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and be thrown into the sea’ and it will be done. 22 Everything you pray for with the fullness of faith you will receive!”
When you immerse yourself in The Word, your faith grows. When you set The Word aside because you get focused on other things, your faith wanes and you grow lukewarm. Sadly, I have experienced this reality and had to correct my priorities.
Jesus gave us a critical Truth in the above passage, overcomers will receive everything they ask for when they have the fullness of faith. We need to be in full expectation of having the fullness of faith. This level of faith requires serious investment on our part. Do you think that the casual believer will achieve this while sitting in a pew once a week? Do you think someone solely focused on end-time prophecies and world events will grow to this level of faith for the here and now? Think again.
Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Romans chapter 10:
17 Faith, then, is birthed in a heart that responds to God’s anointed utterance of the Anointed One.
“Anointed utterances” include both The Word and The Holy Spirit. Why rob yourself of omitting one of these Sources? As for me, full immersion of both is the answer to the fulfillment of my calling. Overcomers want the fullness rather than the minimum.
Jesus revealed the problem associated with little or no faith… unbelief resulting in powerlessness. In Matthew chapter 17:
14 They came to where a large crowd had gathered to wait for Jesus. A man came and knelt before Him 15 and said, “Lord, please show Your tender mercy toward my son. He has a demon who afflicts him. He has epilepsy, and he suffers horribly from seizures. He often falls into the cooking fire or into the river. 16 I brought him to Your followers, but they weren’t able to heal him.”
17 Jesus replied, “Where is your faith? Can’t you see how wayward and wrong this generation is? How much longer do I stay with you and put up with your doubts? Bring your son to Me.”
18 Then Jesus rebuked the demon and it came out of him and the boy was instantly healed!
19 Later the disciples came to Him privately and asked, “Why couldn’t we cast out the demon?”
20 He told them, “It was because of your lack of faith. I promise you, if you have faith inside of you no bigger than the size of a small mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move away from here and go over there,’ and you will see it move! There is nothing you couldn’t do! 21 But this kind is cast out only through prayer and fasting.”
I know many of you have read these passages in the past and are retained in your mental faculties but what is the state of your heart? We must build up faith in our hearts and keep it vibrant and active. Praying in The Holy Spirit is of paramount importance to this process. Jude wrote by The Holy Spirit:
20 But you, my delightfully loved friends, constantly and progressively build yourselves up on the foundation of your most holy faith by praying every moment in the Spirit. 21 Fasten your hearts to the Love of God and receive the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who gives us eternal life.
As we are constant and progressive by praying in Tongues, our faith will grow and be sustained at a higher level. You can now understand why the adversary fights this revelation so much. He wants to keep you powerless against his kingdom.
