1 Samuel 2:35 2:35 ‘But I will raise up for Myself a faithful priest who will do according to what is in My heart and in My soul; and I will build him an enduring house, and he will walk before My anointed always’
What is in Our Heavenly Father’s heart and soul? Love. A faithful priest walks in Love, not according to his own fleshly desires.
In 1 Samuel 2, Eli’s sons treated OUR LORD’S offerings in contempt as they abused their office and responsibility. Their sin was very great in the LORD’S eyes. They specifically interfered with the second step of bringing the Glory of THE LORD down as mentioned in Leviticus Chapter 9. Those who are charged with ministering as priests are held to a higher level of accountability for they are called to show the way to restoration with Our Heavenly Father.
This breach of the priesthood set the stage for the Order of Zadok to replace Eli’s appointment. The Melchizedek (Zadok) Order (of righteousness) operates as servants to mankind thus fulfilling the calling of Love. In Hebrews 7, this priesthood is further applied to Jesus quoting: "You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek." Righteousness denotes integrity, virtue, purity of life, rightness, correctness of thinking feeling, and acting which is acceptable unto Our Heavenly Father.
As we pursue the walk of Love, we fulfill the Melchizedek priesthood for we truly walk according to what is in Our Heavenly Father’s heart and soul. That is the walk that brings people to restoration with Our Heavenly Father.
