In John chapter 17, Jesus spoke the following:
1 This is what Jesus prayed as he looked up into heaven,
“FATHER, the time has come.
Unveil the glorious splendor of YOUR Son
so that I will magnify YOUR glory!
2 YOU have already given me authority
over all people so that I may give
the gift of eternal life to all those that YOU have given to me.
3 Eternal life means to know and experience you
as the only true God,
and to know and experience Jesus Christ,
as the Son whom YOU have sent.
4 I have glorified YOU on the earth
by faithfully doing everything YOU’VE told Me to do.
5 So My FATHER, restore Me back to the glory
that WE shared together when we were face-to-face
before the universe was created.”
These few words contain critical revelation and understanding to being a mature Son or Daughter of Our Heavenly Father. Jesus affirms the path to eternal life which is to know and experience Jesus Christ as THE SON whom FATHER sent. There is no other way that can be called “The Way”.
The only way we can glorify FATHER is to faithfully do everything HE tells us to do. We only do those things which we see in The Word and hear what The Holy Spirit is speaking to us. Many believers are moved by their circumstances and compromise The Word as a result. They become lukewarm and then their soulish reasoning overtakes whatever revelation they received. The rest is history. Their trust and faith in The Word becomes only a memory in the past. We must remain fervent in our determination to attain full maturity!
Jesus openly states He was with FATHER before the universe was created. In Genesis, Moses affirmed the presence and work of The Holy Spirit when the earth was formed. ALL THREE were there when our individual books were written as revealed in Psalm 139:16.
The key to reaching the world is through the life, maturity, unity, and Love of His disciples which include you and me. This does not mean that Jesus doesn’t Love the world, but that the world will only be reached when you and I come into the fullness of Christ and in unity of the faith. This is what consumes the heart of Jesus as he prays for the disciples then and us now before the cross in John chapter 17 as He further revealed:
6 “FATHER, I have manifested who YOU really are
and I have revealed YOU to the men and women
that YOU gave to Me.
They were YOURS, and YOU gave them to Me,
and they have fastened YOUR Word firmly to their hearts.
7 And now at last they know that everything I have is a gift from YOU,
8 And the very Words YOU gave to Me to speak
I have passed on to them.
They have received YOUR Words
and carry them in their hearts.
They are convinced that I have come from YOUR Presence,
and they have fully believed that YOU sent Me to represent YOU.
Jesus spoke the Words of FATHER and we are to speak the Words of Jesus as well. He walked in power and authority because He only spoke only what FATHER instructed thus FATHER confirmed every Word with signs and wonders. We should expect the same as we walk and speak specifically in the same manner as Jesus. Jesus did not instruct us to speak as the prophets or other men, we are only to follow His example. There is such simplicity in this reality! Who needs a soulish opinion when The Holy Spirit reveals Truth?
Jesus further prayed:
9 So with deep Love, I pray for my disciples.
I’m not asking on behalf of the unbelieving world,
but for those who belong to YOU,
those YOU have given me.
10 For all who belong to Me now belong to YOU.
And all who belong to YOU now belong to Me as well,
and My glory is revealed through their surrendered lives.
It is time for you to fully surrender if you haven’t done so already. I purpose daily to live a fully surrendered life which reflects my Love for Jesus Christ, My Lord and Savior. As I walkout this surrendered life, the anointing of The Holy Spirit increases daily and reveals HIS glory. There is such peace beyond understanding when we walk fully surrendered. My life is no longer my own but submitted to FATHER. I am no longer a victim of circumstances but instead the adversary is the victim. When this occurs, his minions depart and look for weaker vessels to harass. We must stop being afraid of dying and start living! Furthermore, we must overcome the poverty mentality promoted by the adversary. As Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Philippians chapter 4:
12–13 I know what it means to lack, and I know what it means to experience overwhelming abundance. For I’m trained in the secret of overcoming all things, whether in fullness or in hunger. And I find that the strength of Christ’s explosive power infuses me to conquer every difficulty.
Let us never forget the prayer of Jesus in John chapter 17 for in it are specific promises and expectations meant for us to live by and manifest in our daily walk.
