FATHER spoke in Jeremiah 29:
11 “ ‘For I know, ascertaining by what I see, the thoughts and devices I think and account upon, above and over you,’ says YHVH, ‘thoughts and devices of completeness, soundness, welfare and peace, not of adversity, displeasure and misery; to set in place and give the cord of hope and expectation for your posterity and the future you long for.’ “
The above passage expresses FATHER’S Divine Intent of Love toward us. In addition, Paul wrote by THE SPIRIT in 2 Corinthians chapter 5:
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation
FATHER’S Love toward us promotes completeness, soundness, welfare and peace but the adversary tries to convince us of the opposite by bringing up our past failures so that we will dwell on them rather than focus on the reality of being a new creation IN HIM. It doesn’t matter how long you have been a believer, the devil will bring up your past failures hoping to redirect your attention away from Jesus Christ and His Blood.
The battlefield is the mind and this is why we must renew our minds as Paul wrote by THE SPIRIT in Romans chapter 12:
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
This is not a one-time event. As we interact with the world on a daily basis, we must protect our mind from the subtlety of world’s impact on our thinking. What we see and hear enters our consciousness and if left unchecked, we will lose our focus on what really matters… The Word and Its benefits. It can easily turn into a battle.
As we ponder what the world deems relevant, our past will creep in and try to take hold in our mind. Our past looks for any weakness in our walk and wants to take up residence thus keeping us from fully embracing the promises found in The Word.
My past will tell me “you are not worthy for this promise because you committed this sin or act of lawlessness.” Another ploy is to bring up the generational curse issue as though the Blood of Jesus Christ is insufficient to break such a curse. “It’s in your DNA and you can’t help it!”
It is written by THE SPIRIT in Ezekiel 18:
19 “Yet you say, ‘Why should the son not bear the guilt of the father?’ Because the son has done what is lawful and right, and has kept all My statutes and observed them, he shall surely live.
20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.”
Those who have preached generational sin messages failed to include this passage thus leaving us to believe that we have a major challenge as we look at our own family history. The Blood of Jesus Christ is fully effective in all cases of past sins and lawlessness. Our DNA was not omitted from being impacted by His Blood.
Paul expressed the importance of fighting failure when he wrote by THE SPIRIT in Ephesians chapter 6:
13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints
The helmet of salvation is meant to protect our minds from the evils of the past. As we stand on the Truth of The Word, we will defeat our past failures and finally accept the reality that we are indeed a new creation!
