By THE SPIRIT, the Beloved Disciple wrote in 1 John chapter 3:
16 By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
17 But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him (has no compassion), how does the love of God abide in him?
18 My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. 19 And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him.
20 For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.
22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.
The world system continues to focus on scarcity and why those who are powerful should go to war and insure their ability to increase their future resource availability. In effect, the rich take from the poor. The Kingdom of Heaven works in the opposite manner because there is no scarcity in FATHER’s Kingdom.
The riches of Heaven are hidden from the world and those riches not only include the Spiritual realm, but also include the physical realm as well. There are no real shortages in the world but there is only the perception of shortages because the world does not have access to FATHER’S resources.
FATHER instructs us to have compassion toward those in need yet many have no revelation of the Spiritual laws concerning seedtime and harvest. Moreover, many do not have confidence in FATHER’S Love being expressed in the area of a tangible harvest based on our actions toward others.
Jesus was not hesitant to feed the five thousand because He knew FATHER’S heart toward supplying needs accord to HIS riches in Heaven. Matthew wrote in chapter 14 by THE SPIRIT:
14 And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick.
15 When it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, “This is a deserted place, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food.”
16 But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”
17 And they said to Him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish.”
18 He said, “Bring them here to Me.”
19 Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes.
20 So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained.
21 Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.
As we allow ourselves to be moved with compassion and expect FATHER’S resources to become available to us, the Spiritual flow through us will begin to minister in our midst. FATHER’S Love produces compassion toward others and resources begin flowing to spread the Kingdom. We can hinder the flow by not allowing ourselves to be moved with compassion. Each of us must decide to be led by The Holy Spirit when the situation presents itself. It is easy to look the other way when confronted by those in need. Let us not justify our unwillingness because of the person’s blindness. After all, we were once blind ourselves.
