Glorifying FATHER

In Matthew chapter 5, Jesus spoke:

14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

As believers, we should be glorifying Our Heavenly Father by doing good works.  We should not only testify of HIS Love for mankind but we should show HIS Love by our acts toward others.  If every believer would perform at least one act of unconditional Love every day, I believe we would see a dramatic change in our nation in a short period of time.  As we sow seeds of Love, Love will be produced in others.  Our acts of Love glorify Our Heavenly Father and HE will supply us resources to perform even greater works.

Paul wrote by THE SPIRIT in Romans chapter 15:

1 We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples (failings) of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

2 Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification.

3 For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, “The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me.”

4 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.

5 Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus,

6 that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The strong are to bear the weaknesses of the weak rather than pleasing themselves.  Just as Jesus Christ sacrificed Himself for us, we should also sacrifice for those who are weaker than us.  The end result of bearing another’s burdens should be unity resulting in giving FATHER the glory for being able to bear each other’s burdens.  Jesus glorified FATHER by taking on the sins and sicknesses of the world by dying on the cross.  We should be willing to die to self and take on one another’s burdens.  When we do, we acknowledge the preeminence of Christ in our lives.  This results in giving FATHER the honor and glory HE deserves.

When we bear another’s burdens, we are exercising our faith in the Words of Jesus with respect to being a light.  As we exercise faith by walking in Love, we will experience joy as the recipient experiences unconditional Love.  It is a win-win for all.  Go forth today with an act of Agape Love to another person, preferably a stranger.  Ask FATHER to show you the person(s) to bless.  Pray that your act of Love is a seed planted in their heart resulting in Love rising up in them.  Let us be a light to the world.  How about making it a daily occurrence?  What an excellent way to glorify Our Heavenly Father!
