Paul wrote by THE SPIRIT in Philippians chapter 4:
15 Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only.
16 For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities.
17 Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account.
18 Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.
19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
FATHER directed me to this sensitive topic: giving. Over the years I have heard a multitude of reasons for people not giving to the ministry. Most reasons originate out of judgment rather than hearing FATHER. People will look for reasons to withhold their funds because they were able to identify “error” in the ministry yet they are unwilling to look into the mirror themselves.
When you give with pure intent, FATHER rewards you whether or not the funds are used properly. Your promise is “My GOD shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” and it has nothing to do with the recipient’s performance. My wife and I learned that Truth years ago. Your obedience is what FATHER is considering. Jesus Christ gave His life which is worth far more than any gift you or I could bestow to benefit the ministry. All the wealth we have is but temporal in nature except for the riches in Heaven.
In 1 Timothy 6, Paul wrote by THE SPIRIT:
17 Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.
18 Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share,
19 storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
If FATHER wasn’t interested in our giving, HE would not have placed these passages in Scripture. HE wants no hindrance to our spiritual growth and greed is once such hindrance. We must overcome this most subtle issue as we continue our growth to become mature Sons and Daughters of FATHER.
