It is written by THE SPIRIT in Psalm 119:
132 Look upon me and be merciful to me, As Your custom is toward those who love Your name.
133 Direct my steps by Your Word, And let no iniquity have dominion over me.
134 Redeem me from the oppression of man, That I may keep Your precepts.
135 Make Your face shine upon Your servant, And teach me Your statutes.
And in Psalm 37:
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way.
It is our deepest desire to accurately hear FATHER’S Word for us each and every day. As we do HE orders and directs our steps and whatever we confront we are able to deal with knowing FATHER took us down that particular path. I know that if I select my own path without regard to FATHER’S Divine Intent, it may be one of unnecessary challenges, consumption of resources, and time. This is why it is imperative that we enter that quiet place (also known as the prayer closet) to intently listen to FATHER’S Voice.
It is written by THE SPIRIT in Hebrews chapter 12:
1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
When Jesus went to the cross and rose again, He opened the door providing us the ability to enter the Holy of Holies and be in FATHER’S Presence as we come boldly to the throne of Grace. Since faith comes by hearing The Word or FATHER’S Voice and Divine Intent, Jesus enabled our faith to grow by taking away any and all impediments to hearing. Our faith is made perfect as we mature in hearing FATHER’S Voice and responding by taking only those steps HE directs us to take. Jesus enabled us to hear FATHER (author) and In Him was the Word manifest (finisher) so as we embrace the Word, faith comes forth.
There will be times when HE directs us to actively oppose someone in a given situation. FATHER will use us as HIS vessel of honor to confront a situation which needs correction. Other times HE will direct us to remain silent and steer clear of a potentially volatile situation because HE plans for judgment to ensue through other means. As we submit to HIM we can be assured that HE will be delighted with our trust IN HIM. A Loving FATHER knows when pressure is needed for growth and recovery time is appropriate for restoring.
As HE directs our steps, our “self” dies for it no longer has control over our steps. Paul wrote by THE SPIRIT in Galatians chapter 5 about the contrast of walking IN THE SPIRIT versus walking by the flesh:
16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,
20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,
21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
This passage provides as excellent comparison of the straight and narrow path versus all others. Let our steps be directed by FATHER and bypass all the grief created by walking in the flesh. Our lives will be at peace and filled with the Love of FATHER. In turn this Love will be expressed to others as a testimony of FATHER directing our steps. They will surely desire the same walk as they experience the futility of other paths taken.
