Our Abode

In John chapter 14, Jesus spoke:

21 “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”

22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?”

23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.

24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.”

Within the above passage is a powerful Truth which is difficult for many to grasp.  THE FATHER, Son, and Holy Spirit can and will make THEIR abode in each of us.  The requirement for this to happen centers around Love.  Their presence is not only desirable but actually achievable.  When this occurs our “abode” reflects the presence of FATHER rather than us.  The greater shines brighter than the lesser.

What happens when FATHER makes HIS abode on earth?  In 1 Kings chapter 8 by THIS SPIRIT it was recorded:

10 And it came to pass, when the priests came out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD,

11 so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD.

12 Then Solomon spoke:

“The LORD said He would dwell in the dark cloud.

13 I have surely built You an exalted house,

And a place for You to dwell in forever.”

Should we expect similar results when HE, Jesus, and The Holy Spirit make THEIR abode in us?  We shouldn’t expect anything less as we fully walk in HIS commandments of Love!  You and I know we are not worthy apart from the Blood of Jesus so there can be no act of performance on our part.  We must walk in Love as willing vessels to HIM and not allow our flesh to interfere in any manner.  The devil will attempt to hinder us as we fully submit but we must resist the devil and he will flee just as he did in the wilderness with Jesus.  We resist the devil by proper use of The Word and its Divine Intent of Love.

Do we have confidence in the above Words of Jesus coming to pass?  If not, then we must get back into our prayer closets and dwell on these Words until they become alive in us.  Full submission to FATHER’S commandments is where the issue lies.  We must root out any fear keeping us from this most intimate walk.  FATHER’S Love is greater than any emotional wall of defense our “self” has built in order to protect it from the outside.  Let HIS Love dissolve those hindrances so that HE can fully take up residence without restriction.

Earlier in the chapter Jesus spoke:

6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

Jesus IS the Way to salvation and it is achieved by no other means (Passover).  Jesus sent The Holy Spirit to bear witness of the Truth (Pentecost).  “The Life” is where all Three make Their abode in us as we become fully mature in the revelation of Love (Tabernacles).  When this happens the greatest harvest of good fruit occurs.
