The “Overcoming” Overcomer

Most people pursue the path of least resistance with the greatest safety, and security but FATHER did not choose that path for the overcomer.  Faith requires that we overcome the difficulty rather than expecting FATHER to remove it so we don’t have to experience it.  Our salvation was assured by Jesus experiencing death through the cross thus overcoming death itself on our behalf.  People today want the easy way out rather than pressing through the situation with FATHER’S empowerment of anointing.  Paul understood this Truth as he wrote by THE SPIRIT in 2 Corinthians chapter 12:

9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

While we do everything we can do in an adverse situation, FATHER will accomplish what we can’t do.  It is through faith IN HIM that we are fully successful in overcoming.  If we do our part, HE will do HIS part for we are called to act rather than sit in a cave awaiting Christ’s return.  We were formed in the womb and anointed for a purpose so let us not delay in the full pursuit of that purpose.  As obstacles arise, let us deal directly with them rather than give up, run the other way, and submit to failure.

David was chosen to be King over Israel yet when it was time for him to be anointed the prophet Samuel had to track him down.  FATHER made it quite clear to the prophet to not consider the outward appearance of the one who was to be anointed king in 1 Samuel chapter 16:

7 But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

I don’t know about you but that is certainly a relief to me.  There are many who are more qualified than me according to the world’s standards but I have the only ONE WHO matters supporting me.  HE is the ONE who formed me in the womb and is sitting on the Throne in Heaven above all who dwell on the earth.

David’s father Jesse had paraded his seven oldest sons before Samuel and none of them were FATHER’S choice:

8 So Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel. And he said, “Neither has the LORD chosen this one.”

9 Then Jesse made Shammah pass by. And he said, “Neither has the LORD chosen this one.”

10 Thus Jesse made seven of his sons pass before Samuel. And Samuel said to Jesse, “The LORD has not chosen these.”

11 And Samuel said to Jesse, “Are all the young men here?” Then he said, “There remains yet the youngest, and there he is, keeping the sheep.”

And Samuel said to Jesse, “Send and bring him. For we will not sit down till he comes here.”

12 So he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, with bright eyes, and good-looking. And the LORD said, “Arise, anoint him; for this is the one!”

13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah.

Thus we see a clear picture of FATHER having a specific person for a specific calling and not settling for anyone other than the one HE chose before HE formed him in the womb.  We must grasp and accept this Truth in our lives and no be dismayed when trouble comes.  We must remain steadfast to the path FATHER has called us to walk and deal with every obstacle we face.  In Psalm 89 THE SPIRIT speaks of the challenges David faced in his calling:

20 I have found My servant David; With My holy oil I have anointed him,

21 With whom My hand shall be established; Also My arm shall strengthen him.

22 The enemy shall not outwit him, Nor the son of wickedness afflict him.

23 I will beat down his foes before his face, And plague those who hate him.

With FATHER’S help, David could not be outwitted or afflicted by his enemies.  FATHER did what David could not do to assure success and FATHER will do the same for you and me.  We are called to overcome.
