Underutilized and Frustrated?

There are times in our life when we don’t feel like we are truly making a difference.  We go through each day expecting it to be about the same as the previous day without much change.  Our heart is yearning to do greater things but there appears to be no change in sight.  We know that there is much to be done according to those whom we esteem as having deeper understanding of FATHER’S plans than ourselves.  FATHER has shown HIMSELF mighty to many of us from time to time yet we know there is still much more which lies ahead in the future.  Those who infer or proclaim themselves to be prophets arouse and set our expectations that the winds of change are upon us yet each day ends without that special “something” happening.

Does this describe you, me, or both of us?

Let’s consider someone who might have thought or even expressed these very words.  In Judges chapter 6 by THE SPIRIT it is written:

1 Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD. So the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian for seven years,

2 and the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel. Because of the Midianites, the children of Israel made for themselves the dens, the caves, and the strongholds which are in the mountains.

The word “Midian” means strife and contention.  I would say that this defines the times we are now in for there are more global issues which filter down to the local level than ever before.  The current system is teetering on collapse and nations’ citizens are polarized to the extreme.  Where is the unity?  Only a small remnant remain in unity and even they are being tested.

3 So it was, whenever Israel had sown, Midianites would come up; also Amalekites and the people of the East would come up against them.

4 Then they would encamp against them and destroy the produce of the earth as far as Gaza, and leave no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep nor ox nor donkey.

5 For they would come up with their livestock and their tents, coming in as numerous as locusts; both they and their camels were without number; and they would enter the land to destroy it.

6 So Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites, and the children of Israel cried out to the LORD.

Where are the blessings of Abraham when you need them?  Those who are in control spend their days contemplating new ways to exploit the average citizen because they have control over the money of the country and those who enforce their laws.  The remnant knows this to be temporary in nature yet each day seems to be more of the same.  At some point the cries of the Righteous reach a crescendo and the fullness of time has arrived.  What triggers FATHER to bring forth HIS Plan of deliverance?  Was it timing, the level of despair, faith, or some other critical point or event that brings forth change?

7 And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried out to the LORD because of the Midianites,

8 that the LORD sent a prophet to the children of Israel, who said to them, “Thus says the LORD God of Israel: ‘I brought you up from Egypt and brought you out of the house of bondage;

9 and I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians and out of the hand of all who oppressed you, and drove them out before you and gave you their land.

10 Also I said to you, “I am the LORD your God; do not fear the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell.” But you have not obeyed My voice.’ ”

Finally, some encouraging Words from Above are spoken to the people that deliverance is at hand.  However there is that issue of not obeying HIS Voice.  We all want FATHER to deliver this earth and bring forth HIS Kingdom throughout the land but we must understand that we are part of the solution to the problem.  FATHER uses people to do HIS bidding and because you are reading these words you must consider yourself as being one of those FATHER can and will use to bring forth HIS deliverance.

11 Now the Angel of the LORD came and sat under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites.

Does this sound familiar?  Those whom FATHER is preparing are “hidden” from the world’s view and making ends meet even given the contrary circumstances all around them.  They are biding their time and doing whatever is necessary to sustain themselves until FATHER activates the next step of HIS Plan.

12 And the Angel of the LORD appeared to him, and said to him, “The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor!”

Then suddenly…   How many times have we awoken from sleep hoping and possibly even expected a notable Spiritual event to occur?  I am sure that day the angel arrived on the scene was not being anticipated by Gideon.  As a matter of fact, he was hiding away in the winepress which symbolizes the revelation of Tabernacles although he was threshing wheat, the period just prior to Tabernacles.  The angel’s purpose or mandate is simply to speak a message from FATHER and he did so.  It is FATHER Who is calling Gideon a “mighty man of valor” even though Gideon is in hiding.  These words of faith sunk into Gideon’s consciousness and he responded even though he needed a couple of confirmations just to be sure.  Does that also sound familiar?  How about three confirmations FATHER?

This excerpt speaks volumes to us as we live out each day with some level of expectation that FATHER is going to initiate change.  We must not grow weary in well doing but continue moving forward each day.  Yes, there will be days when it seems you are taking two steps backward for every step forward but be not dismayed.  FATHER knows where you and I are at, whether hiding in a winepress or simply in plain sight.  At the right time, HE will dispatch HIS resources and activate the plan of deliverance which will take into account the faithfulness of HIS Remnant who are being prepared at this particular point in time.  FATHER doesn’t need huge numbers but instead a few who are “all in”.  Let each of us walk out each day with this in mind and it will minimize the frustration we might be experiencing.  Always keep in mind “Today might be the day”.
