Citizenship: the state of being vested with the rights, privileges, and duties of a citizen. A citizen is a native or naturalized member of a state or nation who owes allegiance to its government and is entitled to its protection. Paul wrote in Philippians chapter 3:
18 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things.
20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
21 who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.
Those who walk in self indulgence and self gratification are ones whose god is their belly. They focus only on earthly things and their whole attention is taken up with earthly matters; they are given to the flesh and its lusts. These people are constantly propelling their views forward attempting to win over others as though they can justify their depravity by becoming a majority. They are truly enemies of the cross of Christ. Instead of dying to self, they are perpetuating self albeit temporary at best.
Rising up as a Standard of Righteousness is not a popular stance to take in these times. Being a righteous example to others will cause you to be a target for criticism among those whose god is their belly. They do not want to be reminded of their sinful and lawless state. Paul was distraught over those who were on the path to destruction for their selfish motives would lead to certain death.
FATHER does not change and neither do HIS judgments. After a severe judgment, men have their eyes opened to what placed them under judgment and repent. When the judgment occurs over a nation, the whole nation turns from its wicked ways and seeks FATHER for a time. This has occurred time and time again but as the generation passes away, the new generation fails to follow in the footsteps and wisdom revealed to their forefathers. However, FATHER retains a remnant who will not forsake HIM and they will keep the rest of society from utter destruction. They are citizens of Heaven and embrace the cross of Christ.
We are once again at a point of an impending judgment on earth. The perversion of thought and actions cannot be denied. This is nothing new as we read in Isaiah chapter 5:
20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes,
And prudent in their own sight!
22 Woe to men mighty at drinking wine,
Woe to men valiant for mixing intoxicating drink,
23 Who justify the wicked for a bribe,
And take away justice from the righteous man!
You can redefine words to suit the perversion of man but that does not make them true. High courts of the land can change the letter of the law but that does not change the original intent of the law. You can put lipstick on a pig, but in the end… it is still a pig.
There are those of us who long for the transformation of our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body. Though pressured by society to give in to their perversions, we will continue to press in and pursue the fullness of our calling in Christ. No one can take away our citizenship and at some point FATHER will divide the sheep from the goats. When this dividing occurs, there will be no question of what it means to be a standard of righteousness as the world is being judged.
