The Couple in Glastonbury

If there is any Scripture that I think of when I reflect about my time with Brian and Freda, it is the following:

Colossians 1:24 I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church,

25 of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God,

26 the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints.

27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

28 Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

29 To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.

FATHER sent me to see them in May of last year where I spent six days at their house simply listening and observing their lives.  Due to poor health, Brian was unable to drive so I drove them to various places they longed to see again.  Being an American driving on the narrow roads of southwestern England on the “wrong” side of the road, it was like driving an obstacle course.  He was unable to record anything due to his health.

This year, Brian’s health had improved but was still unable to drive any distance so I once again chauffeured them to those places which had fond memories for them both.  It was an honor and privilege to minister to them.  They truly walk in Love and honor all of life.  As you may realize by watching the videos posted, Brian is meticulous in every aspect of his life and Freda is the true definition of a “help meet”.  She commonly recalls the details he now has trouble remembering and is patient with the long recovery process of both his eye operation as well as the four hour heart operation he recently went through.

They live in a house that overlooks the town of Glastonbury.  They both enjoy gardening and feeding the wildlife in the area (especially Mr. Badger who comes at night for his peanuts).  As Brian noted in one of the videos, the birds know Freda quite well.  They will notify her of her feeding duties.  I was able to observe the dynamics of the 50 different species of birds that frequent their feeding tray.  Yes, they have meticulously recorded all 50 species in their journal.

In Brian’s library, I found an original copy of T.L. Osborn’s book “Healing the Sick” along with countless other books of great evangelists of the twentieth century.  This particular book has great personal meaning to me as FATHER had me reread the book in 1984 when I received a miraculous healing of a severe case of Hepatitis A.  George Jeffries, A.A. Allen, D.L. Moody, Oral Roberts, William Branham, and many other authors are on the shelves of his massive bookcase.  The attic contains reel to reel tapes of some of those evangelists as well.  One morning we listened to George Jeffries preach, originally recorded on a 78 rpm vinyl record which was transferred to a cassette tape.

In these days of instant gratification, it is important that we stop and reflect of what past generations have endured.  If I can glean just one revelation from listening to a man such as Brian who has history of serving FATHER, then it was well worth the time.  Brian admits that he is tired and we don’t know how much longer he and Freda will be with us.  It is an honor to post these videos and possibly broadcast the final chapter of his public ministry.  It seems like the theme of “bookends” continues.  The old must be completed before the new can come forth.

Ephesians 3:14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,

16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,

17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—

19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
