John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
Jesus clearly established that He is THE WAY. In the wilderness, the Presence of OUR FATHER was manifested in The Most Holy Place, protected by a veil. The same was true in the Temple in Jerusalem. The veil was a dividing wall from HIS Presence in the Holy of Holies. The veil was placed there by HIS Love for us to protect us from certain death for sin could not survive in HIS Presence.
Jesus established a better covenant and became mediator on our behalf. Hebrews Chapter 5:
5 So also Christ did not glorify Himself to become High Priest, but it was He who said to Him:
“You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You.”
6 As He also says in another place:
“You are a priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek”
This passage refers to Psalm 110, quoted in yesterday’s writing. Jesus is the High Priest of the Order. The word “Order” refers to a group of priests, not just one. One belongs to an Order and Jesus paved the way for us to be admitted to this Order. Many are called to take the test and as a result of the call and results of the “test”, a few are chosen. As Kemper mentioned in last Sunday’s Bible study, the chosen are those who have been and are continuing to prepare for the priesthood. Our preparation first focused on becoming a mature son but it did not end there. A mature son ministers joy to THE FATHER. That is only half of the ministry. The second part of the ministry is to further the name and character of THE FATHER in all the earth. The priesthood acts as a bridge of reconciliation and restoration. They bring Heaven to earth and Jesus is the forerunner or pattern Son for this full and complete ministry:
Hebrews 6:19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil,
20 where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
Jesus removed the separation of the veil for the Sons to have full and complete access to the Throne of Our Heavenly Father, the center of HIS power and authority. A forerunner is one who comes in advance to a place where the rest are to follow. Jesus has cleared the path for us to enter in:
Hebrews 10:19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus,
20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh,
21 and having a High Priest over the house of God,
22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water
The vast majority of Christians will not be a part of this Order just as most Israelites were not of the tribe of Levi. There were twelve camps placed around the Tabernacle in the wilderness: north, south, east, and west. Between those twelve tribes and the Tabernacle was the camp of Levites:
Numbers 2:17 “And the tabernacle of meeting shall move out with the camp of the Levites in the middle of the camps; as they camp, so they shall move out, everyone in his place, by their standards.”
The Levites were in the “gap” between the Tabernacle and the rest of the tribes, by design of Our FATHER.
Most Christians are content in the Outer Court living the life of salvation. Others proceeded to the Holy Place, known for the reflective light from the candlestick and being satisfied with the baptism, gifts, and moves of the Spirit. They become complacent with receiving from the five-fold ministry. However, the Remnant is called to proceed into HIS Presence. They are continuing to press in to the full maturity of Sons and are being shown THE WAY into the Holy of Holies, the Most Holy Place! These are the ones who see (in the understanding and knowledge) that Jesus is the forerunner of the destiny of the “called out” ones, those who will be the partakers of Divine nature:
2 Peter 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,
3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,
4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Jesus Christ, our forerunner, arrived at His final destination: the Throne in the midst of Heaven. He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, as well as the High Priest of the Order of Melchizedek. He is both King and Priest as well as our pattern to follow. We have been apprehended by OUR FATHER to rule and reign once the time of preparation is completed. We will join Jesus Christ around His Throne where His power and authority reside for He has shown us THE WAY!
