First Desolation, Then Victory

Today, I was awakened by Our Heavenly Father to focus on Jeremiah Chapter 32.  I was to read verse 31 first:

:31 ‘For this city has been to Me a provocation of My anger and My fury from the day that they built it, even to this day; so I will remove it from before My face.

This particular verse is part of a commitment to bring down the current system completely, by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.  However, Our Heavenly  Father instructs Jeremiah to buy a field from his cousin in Anathoth for 17 shekels of silver.  The number 17 represents victory:

Jeremiah records 17 prayers. The 17th prayer is found in Jeremiah 32. The prayer is made while the Babylonian army was surrounding Jerusalem. In such circumstances, the prophet redeems land in Anathoth for 17 shekels of silver (Jer. 32:9). It is remarkable that Anathoth means “ answered prayers.” Then in 32:17-25 Jeremiah prays his great prayer of victory that once we obtain the victory of answered prayer, no further prayer is needed to obtain the object of prayer.

Jeremiah’s name means "whom Jehovah has appointed"

Jeremiah’s father’s name was Hilkiah = "my portion is Jehovah"

The field at Anathoth in the land of Benjamin was purchased by Jeremiah while he was imprisoned under Babylonian rule.  The purchase of this field was to signify that the destruction was only temporary and that ultimately Our Heavenly Father would restore the Promised Land:

42 “For thus says the LORD: ‘Just as I have brought all this great calamity on this people, so I will bring on them all the good that I have promised them. 43 And fields will be bought in this land of which you say, “It is desolate, without man or beast; it has been given into the hand of the Chaldeans.” 44 Men will buy fields for money, sign deeds and seal them, and take witnesses, in the land of Benjamin, in the places around Jerusalem, in the cities of Judah, in the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the lowland, and in the cities of the South; for I will cause their captives to return,’ says the LORD.”

In light of being directed to this particular chapter today and having been charged with the oversight of the Treasury of the Remnant and receiving the Census coins held for future distribution:

“I declare that 17 shekels of silver have been allocated and directed for the purchase of the entire field (the earth).  This declaration is hereby given as public notice and record is made by its posting as a public declaration available for all witnesses to read throughout this earth on May 4th, 2014.”

Father, we receive your promise:

40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them good; but I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me. 41 Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will assuredly plant them in this land, with all My heart and with all My soul.’
