In HIS Shadow

To take part in the construction of the Living Temple for Our Heavenly Father to dwell in requires four attributes: wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and skill.  This is first found in Exodus 31:

1 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: 2 “See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. 3 And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship

The name “Bezalel” means “in the shadow (i.e. protection) of God" (H1212).

The Spirit of God has within its attributes: wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and workmanship (skills for service).  First on the list is wisdom.  Wisdom means to be teachable and willing to be corrected.

A wise man knows his current level of understanding and knowledge is limited and is willing to set aside his current doctrine to receive a higher level of understanding and knowledge.  He is interested in ascending upward to the “ways” of Our Heavenly Father.  Once you realize there is more to life than the Passover revelation, you seek the next level: Pentecost.  Once there, you realize there is even a greater revelation: Tabernacles.  When we finally realize that our doctrine is subject to change based on new understanding and that in this life we need to stay in a teachable state and be willing to be corrected, we have become wise.

Understanding is our comprehension of Our Heavenly Father’s ways, methods, plan, laws, and character.

Psalm 103:7  He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.

Moses had understanding, the children of Israel did not.  Without understanding, your heart is hardened.  You cannot come into unity with Our Heavenly Father unless you have understanding.  In business, it is the difference between being trained and educated.  If a person know why something works, he can do a better job than one who only is trained how to operate.  “Why” is critical in the Kingdom.

A wise man will increase in understanding because he is willing to be corrected even though past truths seemed to be set in stone.  He acknowledges there may be higher laws that supersede the laws he currently understands.  Jesus walked on water by a higher law than gravity.  He understood the higher law, Peter did not.  Neither did the other disciples.

Once you have wisdom and understanding, true knowledge comes forth.  Knowledge prepares you for action.  Skill is the success of knowledge in action.  Skill produces good fruit in a person’s calling.  Skill is obtained through maturity of practicing knowledge through your actions.  You cannot become skillful by doing nothing.  Workmanship has “work” at its root.  We must labor to become skillful.  A master craftsman is who you want when a critical job is at hand.

Love is the highest form of walking In HIS Shadow.  Do you want to become skilled in Love?  Become teachable and correctible.  Assume you don’t know everything.  Be willing to set aside your current “doctrine” and allow HIM to bring you up to a higher level.  Let your labor of Love become a mature aspect of your character.  You will be walking in the shadow (protection) of Our Heavenly Father.
