As In The Days Of Noah

Jesus gave us a specific sign concerning the last days!

Jesus spoke in Matthew chapter 24:

3 Later, when they (Jesus and His disciples) arrived at the Mount of Olives, His disciples came privately to where He was sitting and said, “Tell us, when will these things happen? And what sign should we expect to signal Your coming and the completion of this age?”

4 Jesus answered, “At that time deception will run rampant. So beware that you are not fooled!

Jesus described the times in great detail and then He said:

36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of Heaven, but My Father only.

37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

And Luke records what Jesus spoke in Luke chapter 17:

26 The same things that happened in the days of Noah will take place in the days of the Son of Man.

27 They were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, and they were given in marriage until the day Noah boarded the ark and the devastating flood came and swept them all away.

28-30 “The days of the Son of Man can also be compared to the days of Lot. The people of that time lived their lives as normal. They got married, raised families, built homes and businesses, yet they were totally unaware of what was coming until the day Lot departed from Sodom. The sky opened up and rained fire and burning sulfur upon them, destroying everyone and everything they had built. So it will be on the day of the unveiling of the Son of Man.

31 “On that day, if one is outside, he won’t even have time to go back into the house to gather his belongings. And those toiling in their fields won’t have time to run back home.

32 Don’t forget the example of Lot’s wife and what happened to her when she turned back.

33 All who are obsessed with being secure in life will lose it all—including their lives. But those who let go of their lives and surrender them to Me will discover True Life.

Jesus described the pattern of what the world would be like before judgment and deliverance.

Here’s what that comparison means in context:

1. Normal life continuing—right up to the end

Jesus said people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage.

In other Words, life looked completely ordinary. There was no widespread awareness or urgency. The key point: people were unprepared because they didn’t take the warning seriously.

2. There would be widespread corruption and moral decay.

Moses recorded by The Holy Spirit in Genesis chapter  6:

5 But YAHWEH saw how extremely wicked humanity had become, for they imagined only evil, for all they thought about was doing evil all the time.

Every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil continually.

Violence, corruption, and wickedness had become the norm. So “days of Noah” implies moral compromise becoming widespread; evil being normalized rather than resisted

There is no question that the world as embraced moral compromise and evil!

3. Spiritual blindness and disbelief

Noah was building the ark and warning people.

Peter wrote by The Holy Spirit in 2nd Peter chapter 2:

4 Now, don’t forget, God had no pity for the angels when they sinned but threw them into the lowest, darkest dungeon of gloom and locked them in chains, where they are firmly held until the judgment of torment.

5 And HE did not spare the former world in the days of Noah when HE sent a flood to destroy a depraved world (although he protected Noah, the preacher of righteousness, along with seven members of his family).

6 And don’t forget that HE reduced to ashes the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, condemning them to ruin and destruction. God appointed them to be examples as to what is coming to the ungodly.

7 Yet HE rescued a righteous man, Lot, suffering the indignity of the unbridled lusts of the lawless.

8 For righteous Lot lived among them day after day, distressed in his righteous soul by the rebellious deeds he saw and heard.

9 If the Lord YAHWEH rescued Lot, he knows how to continually rescue the Godly from their trials and to reserve the ungodly for punishment on the day of judgment.

10 And this especially applies to those who live their lives despising authorities and who abandon themselves to chasing the depraved lusts of their flesh. They are willfully arrogant and insolent, unafraid to insult the glorious ones.

So, the pattern includes warnings being given but are largely dismissed or mocked.

4. Sudden judgment after long patience

God delayed judgment while the ark was being prepared (Genesis 6–7), but when it came, it was decisive and unavoidable.

Jesus emphasizes this part: “They knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away.”

To summarize, there is a long season of mercy and warning followed by sudden, unexpected judgment, a small remnant will be saved.

Only Noah and his family entered the ark. That highlights: a few will respond compared to the whole world.  Salvation was available—but not embraced by most.

When Jesus compares His return to the days of Noah, He’s describing a world that is:

busy with normal life

morally drifting

largely dismissive of God’s warnings

caught off guard when judgment comes

And at the same time, there is a way of salvation (like the ark), but it requires awareness, faith, and response.

Now is the time to prioritize your life on being fully led by The Holy Spirit without delay!
