Binding And Loosing

We are to bind and loose according to Heaven’s reality!

Seeking first The Kingdom is our responsibility and has an immediate, practical application.  Seeking first The Kingdom must have a measurable outcome.  Jesus illustrates what it is to seek first The Kingdom:

Jesus spoke in Matthew chapter 12:

28 But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the Kingdom of God has come upon you.

When Jesus was confronted with a man under the power of darkness, He came with the power of The Spirit of GOD and set him free.  People saw the tormented person, they saw his deliverance, and they saw the change in the countenance of the person.

What they didn’t see is there was a superior Kingdom that came and collided with an inferior kingdom called the kingdom of darkness.  The Kingdom of the Superior brings forth desolation to the inferior kingdom, the kingdom of darkness.

GOD’S answer to torment is peace.  GOD’S answer to sickness is healing and joy.  GOD’S answer to sin and addiction is that HIS righteousness would become their nature.  These are measurable outcomes and values when we seek first The Kingdom of GOD.

Jesus spoke in Matthew chapter 16:

15 Jesus said to His disciples, “But who do you say that I am?”

16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.”

17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father Who is in Heaven.

18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this Rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

Jesus blessed Peter because Peter heard a revelation from GOD.  The Rock is the revelation that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God.

19 And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, and whatever you bind on earth is already bound in Heaven, and whatever you loose on earth is already loosed in Heaven.”

As we access The Kingdom of Heaven, we understand what is to be bound and loosed on earth as it is in Heaven.  Keys are symbols of authority and ruling power.

Jesus revealed this Truth within the Lord’s Prayer when He spoke in Matthew chapter 6:

10 Manifest your Kingdom realm, and cause your every purpose to be fulfilled on earth, just as it (already) is in Heaven.

Everything that Jesus said and did was to reveal the reality of Heaven which is to shape this world according to Heaven’s reality.

How can we loose something if we have no revelation of what is already loosed in Heaven?  When we bind something, we hold it to the restriction that has been granted to us to employ by Our Lord Jesus Christ.  We function in His Name, not ours.  We function with His Message, not ours.

Jesus illuminated this Truth when He spoke in Luke chapter 10:

1 After this, the Lord Jesus formed thirty-five teams among the other disciples. Each team was two disciples, seventy in all, and he commissioned them to go ahead of Him into every town He was about to visit.

8 “When you enter into a new town, and you have been welcomed by its people, follow these rules: Eat what is served you.

9 Heal the sick, and tell them all, ‘God’s Kingdom has arrived and is now within your reach!’

As a result:

17 Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your Name.”

18 And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy (every power satan possesses), and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in Heaven.”

We are to access Heaven and expect the revelation of what to bind and what to loose as we encounter those in need.  Is such access to this revelation available to us?

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Ephesians chapter 2:

4 But God still Loved us with such great Love. He is so rich in compassion and mercy.

5 Even when we were dead and doomed in our many sins, He united us into the very Life of Christ and saved us by His wonderful grace!

6 He raised us up with Christ the exalted One, and we ascended with Him into the glorious perfection and authority of the Heavenly realm, for we are now co-seated as One with Christ!

As we walk in this revelation of being co-seated with Christ, we will apply the power and authority granted to us by Him.
