Pursuing Holiness- Part 62

As we walk in Holiness, we will by necessity speak warnings of the wrath of GOD to those who persist in disobedience and reject The Word of GOD!

Since 2006, we have been teaching on the Agape Love of Christ.  For eighteen years, FATHER’S Love has been the theme for these writings.  Jesus did not come to condemn the world but that through Him the world might be saved.  But what happens to those who after hearing His Word, reject It and choose the wide path that leads to death and destruction?  They will see and experience the Wrath of GOD.  Sadly, this reality that requires us to issue such a warning which will be unpopular with most people who hear it.

John the Baptist had such a ministry.

Because many in the world have rejected The Gospel, their judgment WILL COME.

Matthew wrote by The Holy Spirit in Matthew chapter 3:

1 In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea,

2 “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”

3 For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah when he said, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; make his paths straight.'”

4 Now John wore a garment of camel’s hair and a leather belt around his waist, and his food was locusts and wild honey.

5 Then Jerusalem and all Judea and all the region about the Jordan were going out to him,

6 and they were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.

How many in the fivefold ministry preach such a warning today?

7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

John did not mince words!

8 Bear fruit in keeping with repentance.

9 And do not presume to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father,’ for I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children for Abraham.

Do not presume or assume anything because of some opinion you developed as you listened to those who claimed to preach the unadulterated Word of God but rather taught their own doctrine of opinion.

10 Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

This is just a sample of what FATHER’S wrath is all about.  HE will not tolerate sin and lawlessness in HIS midst.

11 “I baptize you with water for repentance, but He Who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

If you reject the ministry of The Holy Spirit and resist Holy Fire which is meant to purify you, you have a serious problem!

12 His winnowing fork is in His Hand, and He will clear His threshing floor and gather His wheat into the barn, but the chaff He will burn with unquenchable fire.”

Jesus will remove “the worthless” from the pure!

Jesus affirmed John the Baptist’s prophetic message as He spoke in Luke chapter 7:

18 The disciples of John reported all these things to him. And John,

19 calling two of his disciples to him, sent them to the Lord, saying, “Are You the One Who is to come, or shall we look for another?”

20 And when the men had come to Him, they said, “John the Baptist has sent us to You, saying, ‘Are You the One Who is to come, or shall we look for another?'”

21 In that hour He healed many people of diseases and plagues and evil spirits, and on many who were blind he bestowed sight.

22 And He answered them, “Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the poor have Good News preached to them.

23 And blessed is the one who is not offended by Me.”

24 When John’s messengers had gone, Jesus began to speak to the crowds concerning John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?

25 What then did you go out to see? A man dressed in soft clothing? Behold, those who are dressed in splendid clothing and live in luxury are in kings’ courts.

26 What then did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.

27 This is he of whom it is written, “‘Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you.’

28 I tell you, among those born of women none is greater than John. Yet the one who is least in the Kingdom of God is greater than he.”

29 ( When all the people heard this, and the tax collectors too, they declared God just, having been baptized with the baptism of John,

30 but the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the purpose of God for themselves, not having been baptized by him.)

We are at a time in history where the people must be warned of the consequences of the wrath of GOD.  Yes, I know that this is an unpopular Word and will cause a separation among many.  Jesus will find it necessary to separate the wheat from the chaff.  We do not want to be on the wrong side of this dividing time.  It is my desire that none should perish!
