Pursuing Holiness- Part 51

As we walk in Holiness, we should expect not only to heal the sick, but also to raise the dead IN HIS NAME!

It was not that long ago that Peter had denied Christ three times.  After Jesus rose from the dead, ministered to the disciples for forty days, and sent forth The Holy Spirit, Peter was a transformed man who walked in Holiness.  His blunders show us that no matter what our past is, we too can walk in the same Holiness as Peter… as well as Paul!

Luke recorded by The Holy Spirit in Acts chapter 9:

32 Now it came to pass, as Peter went through all parts of the country, that he also came down to the saints who dwelt in Lydda.

33 There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden eight years and was paralyzed.

34 And Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Arise and make your bed.” Then he arose immediately.

35 So all who dwelt at Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord.

The man’s physical body totally responded to the Name of Jesus Christ.  He had suffered for eight years and surely sought any and all means for healing by man.  None of those attempts produced any results.  Jesus the Anointed One immediately and divinely made him whole.  Peter himself took no credit.

This miracle resulted in many turning to THE LORD.

Peter instructed Aeneas to make his bed.  Aeneas would no longer lay in bed 24 hours a day.

36 At Joppa there was a certain disciple named Tabitha, which is translated Dorcas. This woman was full of good works and charitable deeds which she did.

37 But it happened in those days that she became sick and died. When they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room.

38 And since Lydda was near Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent two men to him, imploring him not to delay in coming to them.

39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he had come, they brought him to the upper room. And all the widows stood by him weeping, showing the tunics and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them.

40 But Peter put them all out, and knelt down and prayed. And turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up.

41 Then he gave her his hand and lifted her up; and when he had called the saints and widows, he presented her alive.

42 And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed on the Lord.

43 So it was that he stayed many days in Joppa with Simon, a tanner.

Peter prayed earnestly for Tabitha and her body responded with her physical life being restored to her.  He then presented her to the others.

Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in 2nd Corinthians chapter 4:

3  But even if our Gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,

4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ, Who is the Image of God, should shine on them. 5 For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake.

6 For it is the God Who commanded light to shine out of darkness, Who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the Face of Jesus Christ.

7 But we have this Treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.

If you are mature in your walk of Holiness, you will in no way attempt to take credit for the healings and miracles of those for whom you pray.  You and I are bondservants, and all the glory is to be given to Jesus Christ.  We are simply His instruments here on earth.
