It is vital that we renew our mind daily!
Paul wrote by The Holy Spirit in Romans chapter 12:
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
In other Words, stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in His Eyes.
James wrote by The Holy Spirit in his Epistle in chapter 1:
22 But be doers of The Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
23 For if anyone is a hearer of The Word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror;
24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
25 But he who looks into the Perfect Law of Liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
In other Words, if you listen to the Word and don’t live out the message you hear, you become like the person who looks in the mirror of the Word to discover the reflection of his face in the beginning.
You perceive how God sees you in the mirror of the Word, but then you go out and forget your Divine origin. But those who set their gaze deeply into the perfecting law of liberty are fascinated by and respond to the Truth they hear and are strengthened by it—they experience God’s blessing in all that they do!
Focusing on the Spiritual occasionally, causes one to become forgetful of who they are in Christ. They slowly become impacted by the ideas and opinions of the current culture. They slowly change their priorities to conform to the current narrative of what and who they listen to on a daily basis. Ultimately, they go astray and water down The Gospel and no longer exalt Jesus Christ.
My wife and I have begun taking Communion daily. Why? It is imperative for us to renew our minds daily of the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for us individually. It is more important that we exalt Our Lord daily than to focus on the world six days and then focus on Jesus one day. Some churches have communion once a month, some less.
Luke recorded by The Holy Spirit in Acts chapter 2:
46 Daily they met together in the temple courts and in one another’s homes to celebrate Communion. They shared meals together with joyful hearts and tender humility.
47 They were continually filled with praises to God, enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord kept adding to their number daily those who were coming to Life
Could this be the reason that they added to the church daily?
Do you want to be blessed occasionally or daily? Do you want doors to open occasionally or daily?
We are taking Communion not out of duty, but out of desire to keep Our Lord Jesus Christ at the forefront of our daily walk… doing so in remembrance of Him. It is all about intent!
